ICAP at Chino Airport
ICAP
is partnering with the Yanks
Air
Museum
at the
Chino
Airport
to bring innovative
opportunities
for
students
to
explore
the
field
of
aerospace
technology
and
various
career
options
in
aviation.
Through
a
variety
of
educational
opportunities
students
will
be
inspired
as
they
learn
about
great
American
heroes,
while
discovering
important
connections
between
aviation
and
history,
science,
geography,
math,
and
writing.
Yanks
Air
Museum
is
a
hidden
treasure
of
the
Inland
Empire
that
very
few
know
about.
With
a
collection
of
over160
aircraft
spanning
the
entire
history
of
American
aviation,
from
the
1903
Wright
Flyer
to
present
day
military
jets,
Yanks
Air
Museum
is
committed
to
preserving
American
aviation
history
and
technology.
Some
of
the
aircraft
currently
on
display
are
the
sole
surviving
example
of
its
type,
while
many
others
are
rare
with
only
a
precious
few
in
existence
today.
Recently
with
the
development
of
this
partnership,
the
resources
of
the
Museum
are
now
being
made
available
to
homeschool students of
Southern
California.
Living
History
Tours
have
been
developed
which
incorporate
Living
History
Adventures,
interactive
experiences
with
aircraft,
and
even
a
Scavenger
Hunt.
Beginning
in
September
2011,
Aviation
Workshops
will
be
offered
to
area
youth
beginning
as
young
as
5th
grade
through high school.
Aviation themed birthday parties are also available for all ages.
Building on students' natural fascination with aviation, ICAP is
utilizing the resources of the Yanks Air Museum to encourage students
to step inside, learn, experiment, and have fun with a wide variety
of aviation industry themes.
